DC Comics played up the new blood in their The Upstarts panel, which featured Lee Bermejo, Tom King, Steve Orlando, Mark Russell, Bab Tarr, James Tynion, Cameron Stewart and Tim Seeley.

Fellow creator Brenden Fletcher moderated and began by mentioning the somewhat ambiguous title of the panel. He then took to the books, beginning with the Black Canary series he's currently working on with Annie Wu. Talking of how her supporting role in Batgirl (also written by Fletcher) lead into her own series, Fletcher described the title as "A Kung Fu road trip." He likened Dinah's stint as band lead to Clark Kent's own day job, and went on to discuss what we can expect in upcoming issues. "The first few issues will focus on what this band is and how they can stay together," Fletcher explained. "In issues #4 and #5, someone new will take the stage and maybe this will be the next new villain for Black Canary."

During his SDCC panel today, Joss Whedon announced a new six-issue comic series from Dark Horse called Twist, which is coming next year.

"Why isn't there a female Victorian Batman?" Whedon asked. Check out a photo of the cover below, courtesy Dark Horse Comics.

twist-whedonWe don't know what Twist is about yet, but Whedon did hint that its heroine has something in common with Dark Willow from Buffy.

Marvel's annual Cup O' Joe Panel at San Diego Comic Con was as packed and popular as ever, as ringleader Joe Quesada dropped the latest scoop on all things Marvel. Joined by an esteemed number of industry panelists, including Axel Alonso, Tom Brevoort, C.B. Cebulski, Charles Soule, Greg Pak, Cullen Bunn, and Kieron Gillen, the panel shed some light on upcoming projects and then turned it over to the fans.

Cup O' Joe is always the place to be for new announcements, and we got one in the form of a Star Wars / Darth Vader crossover titled Star Wars: Vader Down. Seeking to bind the events of the two separate books together, this six-part series will see Star Wars writer Jason Aaron team with the Vader creative team of Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larroca. Mike Deodata will share art duties. The story will revolve around a do-or-die mission by the Rebels to take down a stranded and but not-so-vulnerable Vader. Described as a natural progression in regards to where the series has come so far, Gillen promised the kind of story any Star Wars fan can get behind, in addition to Wookie on Wookie action. Here's hoping we also get a protocol droid fight in the mix.

DC Comics held a panel celebrating the lighter side of comics, and featured DC talents such as Amanda Connor, Dan Jurgens, Corin Howell, Jim Chadwick and Jimmy Palmioti.

Moderated by Bizarro writer Heath Corson, the panel began with a round table discussion tackling the importance of humor in comics. Palmiotti kicked it off by lauding the lighter books as a palette cleanser to more serious fare. He emphasized the need for a wide variety of books that appeal to all types of readers, likening the darker comics to a flavor of ice cream that eventually gets old. Conner echoed this sentiment in discussing her earlier work. "I've done the dark stuff before, and I got bored real fast. Once I started with the fun stuff, I didn't want to go back." She went on to say that while she enjoys the more serious material, it's not the only thing she wants to read, making humor comics a necessary substitute.

DC Comics talked all things Gotham at their New DC Universe: Batman panel, which featured the Batman creative team of writer Scott Snyder, artist Greg Capullo and editor Mark Doyle.

Moderator John Cunningham kicked off the panel, jokingly noting that "Not much has happened in Gotham this year." The panelists began by going through a set of process shots from issue #41, showing the transition from Capullo's pencils to Danny Miki's inks to FCO's colors. As the slides were shown, the team discussed their own collaborative process from issue to issue, with Snyder remarking that everything he's written for Capullo has come back better than he imagined. This lead to a big smooch from Capullo and a cheer from the crowd. The two then lauded the elasticity of the other, each sharing a number of amusing anecdotes in regards to their working relationship.

As with every year, the 2015 Will Eisner Comic Book industry Awards were announced at SDCC last night. Saga and Lumberjanes were recurring winners this year. Saga won the award for "Best Continuing Series," while artist Fiona Staples won "Best Penciller/Inker." Lumberjanes won awards for "Best New Series" and "Best Publication for Teens (Age 13-17)." Gene Luen Yang won "Best Writer" for his work on Dark Horse's Avatar: The Last Airbender comic and the graphic novel The Shadow Hero.

This morning DC Comics announced a partnership with Milestone Media to publish new comics featuring popular Milestone characters like Static, Hardware and Icon.

Unlike DC's previous Static Shock comic, which positioned Static as one of many heroes in the New 52 universe, the Milestone characters will go back to existing in their own self-contained world (referred to as Earth-M). The arrangement seems similar to Milestone's original relationship with DC, where the former was a DC imprint but maintained creative control over its properties.

If it were up to actor Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones would play Wasp in the next entry in Marvel's Ant-Man film franchise.

"Catherine Zeta-Jones," Douglas told MTV UK who his dream casting choice would be for the character. "Wouldn't be a bad idea. Remember her in Entrapment? You know, she's pretty good at all that stuff."

"I could be happy to be in another Ant-Man," Douglas continued, while also half-joking about using CGI to make himself look 25 years younger so he could get in the suit.

Marc Webb, the director of the two most recent Spider-Man films starring Andrew Garfield, has shared a few of his thoughts on the upcoming Marvel reboot.

"I'm really psyched that Spider-Man is going back to the Marvel universe, I'm really excited to see that incarnation," he told MTV (via Indiewire) at Comic-Con. "And Jon Watts is directing it, I knew him from the old music video days and he'd done some really fantastic music videos so it's really exciting."

That said, the director is still a bit heartbroken over the short-lived life of his take on the character. "It's sad a little bit to surrender that in a way," Webb added.

An animated movie of Batman: The Killing Joke is coming next year, DC Comics' Bruce Timm announced during the "Justice League: Gods and Monsters" panel at San Diego Comic-Con.

A poster being given out at SDCC 2015 has given us our first-look at the appearance on En Sabah Nur (aka Apocalypse) in the upcoming movie X-Men: Apocalypse.

The idea of Batman teaming up with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is no longer the stuff of fan fiction and action figure roleplaying. That crossover is becoming a reality this year as DC Comics and IDW Publishing join forces for a comic called Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

As revealed at IDW's SDCC panel yesterday, the mini-series will see Krang transport the Turtles and Shredder to Gotham City in hopes of ridding himself of his enemies for good. As you'd expect, it's not long before the Turtles meet up with Batman and battle a legion of Gotham villains in their quest to return home. With luck, they'll even convince Bats to scarf some pizza and dance to "Ninja Rap."

Speaking to IGN at Comic-Con 2015, British actor Ed Skrein told us a bit more about the new Deadpool movie, his character Ajax, and why Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool is a bit like Muhammad Ali.

"The film runs in kind of two halves, like a soccer game," Skrein told us. "The first-half is me attacking; the second-half is more him attacking in some ways. But it's not that simple.

"It's a great relationship Ajax and Deadpool have -- it's a wonderful dynamic. A lot of the time we talked in terms of the great boxers: Muhammad Ali and George Foreman or Muhammad Ali versus Joe Frazier. Muhammad Ali is dancing around, whispering in his ear, trying to get to him, get under his skin, which is what Wade Wilson (Deadpool) and Ryan do so brilliantly. Ajax is that juggernaut, just like Joe Frazier, just focussed on this job and hunting him down and pounding away, like a bulldozer."

Liv's world changed drastically over the course of iZombie's first season. The undead lifestyle didn't seem so awful initially, but the charm didn't last. As we head into Season 2, Liv's in a difficult and dark place. Executive producers Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright were joined by cast members Robert Buckley (Major), Rahul Kohli (Ravi), Rose McIver (Liv), Malcolm Goodwin (Clive), David Anders (Blaine), and Aly Michalka (Peyton) at Comic-Con, and they provided some teases about what's ahead.

"Everyone does hate Liv right now." Thomas didn't beat around the bush when it came to Liv's problems. "She, as we start Season 2 -- Major is still not quite over the fact that Liv did not let him in on her zombie secret. Of course, Peyton is still on her walkabout around Europe. And for reasons you all have probably have seen. she's a bit on the outs with any surviving family members she has." Ruggiero-Wright added, "I just feel bad for her."

Agent Carter is making the move from New York City to the West coast in Season 2. Jeph Loeb -- who began the panel sporting Peggy Carter's signature red hat -- spoke with executive producers Chris Dingess, Tara Butters, and Michele Fazekas and cast members James D'Arcy (Edwin Jarvis) and Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter) at Comic-Con about the characters, the popularity of the series, and what's ahead in Season 2.

When Agent Carter appeared in Ballroom 20 last year, it wasn't quite the same. Not much information had been released about the series yet, and Fazekas recalled, "I remember walking through the Marriott last year with you

and telling her, 'You're never going to be able do this again.'" And that's absolutely true. Butters added that working on Agent Carter is "the best job we've ever had." Butters loves seeing all the cosplay and fan art, "I love that expression of the fans and how they love they show."

The newest Halo 5: Guardians Warzone map, titled Raid on Apex 7, was revealed at San Diego Comic Con today.

However, rather than reveal the new map through traditional means, Microsoft and 343 teamed up with Mega Bloks to reveal the map as a gigantic brick sculpture that weighs in at over a 1000 pounds and has working LED lights and over 90,000 individual bricks.

According to Microsoft, Raid on Apex 7 is the spiritual successor to the original Halo's Silent Cartographer and is the largest Warzone level to date.

The defining feature is the Forerunner Spire in the middle of the map, a structure that provides a base of operations, the control of which Microsoft calls "paramount to a team's success."

Season 2 of Agents of SHIELD became all about the Inhumans. It wrapped with Director Coulson and Daisy Johnson discussing the covert team of Inhumans Daisy would be putting together. Jeph Loeb moderated a panel at Comic-Con with SHIELD cast members Luke Mitchell (Lincoln), Henry Simmons (Mac), Nick Blood (Lance), Adrianne Palicki (Mockingbird), Iain de Caestecker (Fitz), Elizabeth Henstridge (Simmons), Ming-Na Wen (May), Brett Dalton (Ward), Chloe Bennet (Daisy Johnson), and Clark Gregg (Coulson), and they briefly discussed the events of Season 2 and revealed a bloopers reel before looking slightly ahead to Season 3.

Loeb focused on the newbies of the cast -- Mitchell, Simmons, Blood, and Palicki -- and asked them about what it was like to join the team. They've all had positive experiences in, and Palicki in particular was thrilled to join the series: "It's pretty awesome to play this character has a huge comic book fan -- there was a lot of pressure coming in."

DC had more to reveal about the future of the Superman franchise at SDCC today, including two new Superman mini-series from some big-name creators.

New Superman Comic Features Lois, Clark and Son

First, Neal Adams will be writing and drawing a six-issue series called Coming of the Supermen. The project will be similar to Adams' recent Batman: Odyssey in that it's a standalone book set outside current DC continuity. Coming of the Superman pits the Man of Steel against Darkseid and Kalibak. Complicating matters is the emergence of three new heroes from the bottle city of Kandor (now rechristened New Krypton), who are forced to join forces with Lex Luthor to oppose Darkseid.

Legends of Eisenwald is medieval -- not the sort of medieval that's concerned with crop rotation, but a theme-park medievalness, filled with bloodshed, moral dubiousness, imposing castles, and pikemen in ridiculous steel hats. Its simple but fast-paced turn-based combat is given momentum by a satisfying loop of upgrades, and that moved me forward when the confusing story couldn't.

Eisenwald is a tactics-based strategy/role-playing game (similar to the King's Bounty or Heroes of Might & Magic series). You control a noble in a semi-fantastic Germany, with a party of six fighters, archers, or support units, which can expand up to 12 if you make enough money or capture enough castles.

This issue of Injustice is more reminiscent of the video game source material than any before it, as it revolves largely around two characters locked in single combat and fighting to the death. If that's all issue #5 had to offer, it wouldn't be a very memorable read. Luckily, Brian Buccellato keeps the focus on characterization over spectacle, thereby maintaining the fundamental appeal this comic has boasted from the beginning.

The two characters in question are Superman and Wonder Woman, with the two having been tricked into a duel by Batman. This is one of those cases where knowledge of the game's storyline drains this battle of any real drama. But that's not the point. The two chapters collected in this issue use that duel as a backdrop as Buccellato fleshes out several characters. In the first chapter, Hal Jordan reflects on the nature of fear and willpower, and why the lack of the former in Superman is a troubling thought.

I love an element of randomness in single-player turn-based tactical games - it can force you to adapt on the fly when your plans go sideways, and sometimes gives you the thrill of pressing an unexpected advantage. Massive Chalice, though, overdoses on that good thing. Its Game of Thrones-meets-XCOM concept is a good one, but when your soldiers can be suddenly struck down not just by a lucky shot from an enemy but also by natural causes like hereditary heart disease, and entire castles can be destroyed by unpredictable events on the strategic map, there's an overabundance of opportunities to lose one of these long 300-year campaigns through no fault of your own.

At first, setting up multiple noble houses representing character classes and then cross-breeding them to create hybrid classes through arranged marriages seems like a fantastic idea for a strategic management layer of a squad-tactics game. Hitch a melee-focused Caberjack to a stealth-ranged Hunter, and their offspring is a Shadowjack who can sneak up on enemies and bash their faces in at close range. Wed that same Caberjack to an area-of-effect Alchemist, and you get a Boomstriker with a powerful shotgun-like short-range attack cone. Combine that with various armor and weapon variations that can put a spin on how a class behaves in combat, such as crossbows that penetrate through multiple targets, and there's a huge range of combat roles.

At this point, Mortal Kombat X has established itself as a fundamentally solid comic with lackluster execution. When the series takes the time to narrow its focus and remain fixated on one group of characters, the results are enjoyable. But too often it gets caught up in the ever more complex web of conspiracies and betrayals linking the MK cast. Issue #8 falls victim to that familiar trap at times, but also rises above more often than not.

The first chapter in this issue is easily the weakest, as Shawk Kittelsen's script clumsily bounces between the Johnny Cage/Sonya Blade thread, the Scorpion thread, the Raiden threads, and various other running conflicts. The scripting improves in the second chapter, however, as Kittelsen focuses largely on fleshing out the rise and fall of the Johnny/Sonya romance in the years after Mortal Kombat 9. These scenes are far too brief. but still vital in exploring a softer side to both characters. This chapter also gives the book a bit of the humor that it too often lacks.

It's rare to see DC's digital-first comics broken up into traditional story arcs. Most follow a more episodic, chapter-by-chapter approach to storytelling. But with "Bane of Existence," writer Pete Tomasi is giving the longer story arc format a try. It's a gamble that doesn't really pay off for the book.

Issue six collects the final three chapters of the five-chapter "Bane of Existence" arc. Based on the lack of plot progression in this issue, that arc could easily have been trimmed down. These three chapters do little more than preset one long, drawn-out fight scene between Batman and Bane, one that conveniently changes locations in each chapter. The issue opens nicely enough with a flashback to Bane's hellish childhood in Santa Prisca . But once the focus shifts to the present, the impetus is gone. There's nothing about the portrayal of these two enemies or their rivalry we haven't seen elsewhere, and no great insight into Bane's character. Honestly, the brief Bane/Poison Ivy face-off is more entertaining. Between this series and the recent Forever Evil: Batman vs. Bane, it seems that Tomasi is better at writing Bane as a solo character rather than as a direct antagonist to Batman.

I'm watching an old police interview. I can't see or hear the detective, but the woman answering the questions is right in front of me. She's reserved and shy, but polite. I can tell she doesn't want to be there.

Then I click on another video in the archive. It's the same woman. The tape's timecode tells me it's a different day, but I don't need to be told. She's energetic now. Her short-sleeved shirt reveals a snake tattoo on her arm. It bobs up and down as she strums a guitar. With a smile, she sings an unnerving folk song about a jealous woman who drowns her sister.

This is the core experience of Her Story, a wonderful, brave video game unlike anything I've played before. The woman above has a dead husband, and she's a suspect. As such, she's also an unreliable narrator by default, so her story can change from video to video. My job is to wade through dozens of old, archived clips and decide what she may or may not have done. Her alibis, her body language, her reactions -- they all contribute to a great, dense story that stayed in my mind days after I'd seen the end.

For those of us looking for great storytelling in a role-playing game, massively multiplayer RPGs have usually been the black sheep of the genre's family. Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward, the first major expansion for 2013's FFXIV: A Realm Reborn, breaks that trend, and does so admirably. While the main story of A Realm Reborn is nothing to frown on, Heavensward takes that foundation and pushes it toward the heavens to emerge as the finest Final Fantasy tale that developer Square Enix has told in a decade. That's especially helpful here, as it helps outshine some of the expansion's rough leveling slog and Square Enix's decision to gate the new combat classes behind hours of pre-expansion story content.

Let's be honest - things generally don't go very smoothly for the humans living within the Fallout universe's underground vaults. Bethesda's Fallout Shelter for iPhone and iPad gives us the opportunity to try our hand at doing better, to (hopefully) provide a better life for the citizens of the post-apocalypse. Balancing the need to produce food, water, and power - all while fending off radroaches, raiders, and other dangers is a good challenge... at first. But oddly, once you  succeed the fun fades away because of the lack of a planned-out endgame.

What could possibly go wrong when putting us in charge of a vault? In Fallout Shelter's earliest (and most fun) moments, it turns out the answer is pretty much everything. The core gameplay loop is easy to understand - as new citizens are born or recruited into your vault, you must dig into a mountain to construct Living Quarters for them to sleep, as well as Water Treatment Plants and Cafeterias to produce their food and water, and Power Plants to keep all these factories operating.

The latest volume of Injustice has suffered from an annoying lack of focus as writer Brian Buccellato has juggled the ongoing conflict with the Greek gods alongside various other storylines. This fourth issue puts the book back on track to an extent, as the impending war between Superman's empire and the gods renders all other matters null and void for the time being.

That renewed focus comes despite the fact that both chapters spend a significant amount of time in the past. Buccellato delves deeper into the origins of the Batman/Ares alliance and what motivates the gods to venture down from Mount Olympus in the first place. None of the revelations are necessarily surprising, but they make logical sense in the context of Superman's increasingly firm grasp on global power. Meanwhile, Buccellato writes some great material involving Lex Luthor, taking advantage of the fact that Injustice's Luthor is a far more noble and well-meaning character than his traditional self. At this point, Luthor may well be the most sympathetic character in the book.

Last week at E3, AMD pulled the wraps off its new flagship GPU: the liquid-cooled Radeon R9 Fury X. It's the most powerful GPU AMD has ever created, as well as the company's first video card to feature new architecture and a new type of memory. Even before its announcement, speculation ran wild about how it'd compare to Nvidia's GTX 980 Ti, which is equally priced at $650.

When specs and AMD-provided performance numbers came out late last week, it appeared that the two cards were pretty closely matched?and after some extensive testing, we can confirm that both cards are indeed pretty darn close in performance.

Tales From the Borderlands Episode 3: Catch a Ride contains some of the funniest scenes Telltale has ever written. It sets up its fantastic characters, both familiar and completely new, in a handful of tense situations, and the chess board of Rhys, Fiona, and company's long con expands to a galactic level to present tough choices, satisfying outcomes, and compelling mysteries throughout the course of this two-hour chapter.

Catch a Ride takes all of the major players from the first two episodes and forces them to collide within the opening minutes. Your ragtag crew, Hyperion suits, violent crime syndicates, and even a handful of Vault Hunters all engage in a series of Mexican standoffs that had me questioning my mission, my friends, and even myself. Of course, throughout all of this, Telltale's spot-on humor comes through in spades, especially when it comes to your dialogue decisions. I kept finding myself stuck between a handful of decisions both because I wanted to see where the story would go and because I knew that each option would yield varying, always hilarious results.

LEGOs and dinosaurs: somehow it's taken well over three decades for those two great childhood pastimes to join together in an interactive on-screen adventure. Life finds a way, however, and the two elements are together in a package that may not be the best LEGO-branded adventure, but one that still brings enough to entertain over the course of four fast-but-fun campaigns. The format of this puzzle-focused adventure is as old as dinosaurs -- developer TT Games has used this formula more than 20 times since 2005's LEGO Star Wars -- but like the pre-historic creatures themselves, there's still a ton of charm.

Anything in the world that's made out of LEGO bricks that isn't one of the 100-plus playable characters can be broken into studs to be spent on bonuses or rebuilt within the environment to progress further in the world. Anyone who's uttered a line in a Jurassic Park movie can be unlocked eventually, from Ian Malcolm and that annoying kid at the raptor dig site to the dino-wrangling, motorbike-riding Owen Grady and, awesomely, Mr. DNA himself. Unlike most LEGO adventures where characters have distinct weapons or superpowers, LEGO Jurassic World's suite of skills are a little more subdued; paleontologists can dig, zoologists aren't afraid to dive into piles of dino-dung, and hunters can set off targets from afar. It's mostly well balanced, though it's weird to see the meek husband-and-wife couple who funded Jurassic Park III's expedition using a grappling hook and gymnastic moves. Also, why are the only characters with scream-based powers women? There's been plenty of screaming men in Jurassic Park films.

Yoshi's Woolly World is surely a contender for the cutest game ever made. Dozens of knitted dinosaurs inhabit an island crafted from felt, foam, cotton wool, and sequins. While Nintendo has already played with this style before in 2010's Kirby's Epic Yarn, Yoshi's Woolly World does a much better job of exploring its potential. It's always a pleasant adventure with interesting mechanics dotted about, but occasionally it pulls it all together and creates some really great levels, which feel specifically designed around Yoshi, and those really make it worth playing.

Just a couple notes to start things off. Since SyFy aired the first two episodes of Defiance Season 3 as a more or less contiguous movie, I'm reviewing them both together. As with last season, I probably won't be doing weekly reviews, but I may check in periodically and will definitely revisit the show at the end of the season.

Last year's finale ended with three major cliffhangers. In terms of the larger Defiance universe, the most significant was that Irisa (controlled by the artificial intelligence known as the Kaziri) destroyed New York City, decimating the Earth Republic and one of the largest population centers left on this post-apocalyptic world. Irisa and her adoptive father, Nolan, were left sealed in a life pod and buried alive underneath the rubble of the McCawley mines. Meanwhile, Rafe McCawley found himself untied with the Tarr family as they hunted down his unstable ex-wife, Pilar, and their kidnapped children. All told, it was plenty of good setup for the new season. But with Season 2 so often failing to take advantage of its own story potential, there was no guarantee Season 3 would be any better. Luckily, there's more cause to be optimistic this year.

Just like Sir Mix-a-Lot professed his adoration for large backsides back in the day, we have to admit we've always felt the same way about PC with big GPUs. (We like big cores and we cannot lie, with a lot of transistors on a 28nm die.)

That's pretty much the only spec that matters when shopping for a gaming laptop (we'd take it over a faster CPU any day, for example), and it's the star of the show in the revamped Origin EON15-S laptop. This burly 15-inch desktop replacement sports Nvidia's GTX 980M, which is currently the fastest mobile gaming chip available. Other specs of note include an Intel Core i7 CPU, a PCI Express-based M.2 SSD for the OS and a 1TB hybrid hard drive for data, and 802.11 AC Wi-Fi.

Despite being an alternate universe story, one of the reasons DC's Injustice universe remains so appealing is that it's reminiscent of the pre-New 52 DCU. So it's with mixed emotions that I approached this latest issue of Injustice: Year Four. As the cover suggests, a major focus of this issue is Barbara Gordon's transformation from Oracle back into Batgirl. Barbara was a compelling character as Oracle, arguably more so than she was as Batgirl. Does this series need to follow the path of the New 52? Can she offer something to Batman's team as Batgirl that she couldn't as Oracle? The answers remain to be seen, but writer Brian Buccellato makes an important first step as he explores Barbara's motivations. As long as this series remains focused on characterization above all else, there's not too much cause for concern.

If this comic has any one problem, it's that it tries to do too much. The mythology driving Mortal Kombat is incredibly complex. There are dozens of characters and numerous factions all jockeying for attention. This comic admirably tries to give each character their due, but too often it falls short.

That flaw is readily apparent in issue #7, whose three chapters offer a mish-mash of storylines. Kotal Kahn's war with Kintaro and his armies is a central focus, but the chapters frequently shift away to reconnect with Jax and Sonya, Raiden, Scorpion, Mileena and various other familiar faces. There's frustratingly little focus to the story. And it's a shame, because sometimes the storytelling is pretty sound. The opening chapter devotes much of its pages to Kotal's generals, exploring how each came into his service and where their unwavering loyalty stems from. These interludes are interesting, but generally too brief.

DC's Arkham Knight comic stands out less because of its connection to the video game series and more because of the compelling stories it offers featuring a wide range of Gotham characters.The fifth issue is no exception, combining a major showdown between Batman and Bane with more grounded drama as Bruce Wayne continues his quest to pull his city kicking and screaming from the shadows.

The first chapter included in this issue focuses mainly on non-costumed characters, as Bruce and Barbara Gordon try to convince Commissioner Gordon to pursue a political career. That's a story I'd be thrilled to read in a normal Batman comic. The idea that Gordon is the only public figure the people of Gotham actually trust makes sense. Whether the comic will be able to give this story thread the focus it deserves remains to be seen, but this chapter makes for a good start. It's also a treat to see Barbara given the spotlight as Oracle again.

The intoxicating high of overwhelming victory in Heroes of the Storm is stark in contrast to its painful, frustrating sense of crushing defeat. I left each game feeling either godlike because of its superb characters and combat, or worthless because of the disruptive secondary objectives and poor progression system.

Heroes of the Storm is developer Blizzard's MOBA-structured homage to its incredible history, a mash-up of its rich multiverse and iconic characters set atop team-based battlefields. It's a fun blend of worlds with a colorful and unique art style with that distinctly Blizzard standard for quality, and a great sense of humor. Starcraft, Diablo, Warcraft, and other Blizzard heroes team up and go toe-to-toe, engaging in frequent, furious team fights where positioning, timing, and cooperation are essential to annihilating enemy players. These skirmishes are Heroes of the Storm's specialty. With each hero playing a distinct role, and bringing unique abilities to the table, there are hundreds of awesome opportunities for satisfying ability combos.

For the last few weeks, the internet's been abuzz about AMD's upcoming flagship GPU?a single-GPU card built to take on Nvidia's Titan X, but at a presumably lower price. With today's launch of the GeForce GTX 980 Ti, Nvidia's clearly making a preemptive strike against AMD, as you get a card just as fast as the Titan X...but for $650.

If that weren't enough to grab attention, Nvidia's also throwing in a copy of Batman: Arkham Knight with each 980 Ti, as well as reducing the price of last September's GTX 980 to $500. It's safe to say the gloves are off. (Holy moly are they off.) And benefiting from this brutal slugfest are all PC gamers who've been waiting to upgrade.
